The senior women’s squad is aimed at experienced rowers who want to compete at a high level. There are usually eight sessions per week, including double water sessions on Saturdays and Sundays, and weekday outings during spring and summer. Land training can be completed in the club gym or at home and involves ergs, weights and cross-training - as the squad contains a mixture of full-time students and professional women from all regions of North and East Wales and NW England, flexibility is encouraged. We train side-by-side with the senior men, fostering a competitive and supportive training atmosphere (as well as an excellent social scene).

In previous years, we have qualified multiple crews at Henley Women’s Regatta (including reaching the finals in club events), finished in the Top 50 at WEHORR, and won at other local and national regattas such as Metropolitan Regatta. For those wishing to target GB trials we have recent experience with entrants across Men’s, Women’s and Junior’s and thus can be a focus alongside crew boats or individually throughout the year.

We also have a development group, which is is suitable for those who have graduated from a Learn to Row course, or who are coming back into rowing after a break. If you have not rowed previously our learn to row courses are the best way to get into rowing - have a look HERE for details of the next course. They train several times per week on or off the water, with coaching focusing on honing technique and building fitness in order to compete in local regattas, and eventually join the Senior squad if desired.

Whether your aim is to race at national level, to improve your skills and fitness, or to have a weekend scull and breakfast with a friendly, sociable squad then get in touch.
